Guided tour around four mysterious man-made caves – Iceland´s oldest still standing archaeological remains.
Twelve man-made caves have been discovered on the land of Ægissíða by Hella. Four of them have been open to the public. All of them ancient – with some believed to date even further back than the settlement of the Nordic Vikings.
The wonders of the Caves of Hella include ancient crosses, wall carvings and carved seats.
Mystery surrounds the caves and for centuries people have wondered:

Meeting Point
Caves of Hella are ideally located next to route 1 (The Ring Road) at Ægissíða close to the town of Hella on the South coast of Iceland. Our reception and meeting point for our tours can be seen from the road. We are perfectly located to take a break from driving, stretching your legs, and exploring historic caves and their saga’s.
